Bliss of Silence: A Journey Into Stillness at The Yoga Shala

Bliss of Silence: A Journey Into Stillness at The Yoga Shala

August 11, 20253 min read

The sun was just beginning its slow descent over Maitland, painting the sky with soft golds and fading pinks. Inside The Yoga Shala, the air was warm with anticipation, the gentle scent of incense weaving through the quiet space. Cushions were set in a soft circle, the lights dimmed to a gentle glow. This was not just another Sunday evening—it was an invitation to journey inward.

Bliss of Silence, hosted by Mohana Padma Priya, is not a meditation you simply “attend.” It’s an experience that lingers, echoing in the days and weeks after you leave the room.

✨ Before the Silence

Bliss of Silence

For many, the world outside is an endless current of noise—emails to answer, tasks to finish, responsibilities tugging from all directions. But on August 17th at 6:00 PM, something shifted. People arrived from every walk of life—busy professionals, students, parents, seasoned meditators, and complete beginners—each carrying their own silent stories and unspoken weight.

Mohana Padma Priya, with her serene presence and warm smile, welcomed each person like an old friend. Her voice—steady, calming—set the tone:

“Tonight is not about effort. It’s about letting go. You do not need to fix, strive, or achieve anything. You simply need to be here.”

The session began with gentle pranayama, breathwork that released the tension coiled in shoulders and minds. Slowly, like sand settling in water, the room grew still.

💫 The Descent Into Bliss

And then—the Bliss of Silence meditation began.

Guided by Mohanji’s voice through Mohana’s hosting, participants drifted beyond thought, beyond time. The body softened, the breath slowed, and a new awareness bloomed—a space where there was no “to-do list,” no “should have,” no “next thing.”

It was exactly as Mohanji described:

“Total emptiness. No thoughts. No pressure. Just peace.”

In that space, each breath felt like an anchor, holding the mind in quiet stillness. Some felt a deep warmth in the chest; others sensed themselves expanding beyond the edges of the body. For forty minutes, the busy world faded away.

🌸 After the Silence

When the final words of the meditation drifted away, no one moved for a moment. Eyes slowly opened, but the silence remained—a sacred kind of quiet, filled not with absence, but with presence.

During the short group reflection, voices were softer, words fewer, but smiles wider. One participant said it felt “like my mind had been rinsed clean.” Another shared that it was the first time in months she felt truly at peace.

People lingered long after the session ended, sipping tea, sharing thoughts, and basking in the afterglow. There was no rush—only connection.

🌟 The Journey Continues This September

Blossoms of Love

While Bliss of Silence was a unique and unforgettable moment in August, our journey inward continues.

On Sunday, September 28th at 6:00 PM, Mohana Padma Priya returns to The Yoga Shala with a new heart-opening practice: Blossoms of Love – A Guided Meditation.

This 30-minute meditation invites you to explore unconditional love as the infinite essence of who you are. You’ll be guided to experience yourself as the source of love itself—radiating peace and joy to the entire universe from within.

Benefits include:

  • Feeling lighter and more expansive in spirit

  • A deep sense of gratitude for your existence

  • Overflowing love from the heart center

  • A stronger sense of unity with all life

It’s a beautiful next step for those who experienced Bliss of Silence, and a perfect introduction for anyone joining for the first time.
