The Mysore Masterclass Series is a collection of twelve monthly masterclasses that explore the physical, mental, and philosophical dimensions of Ashtanga Yoga.
Each session focuses on a different aspect of practice, offering a deeper understanding of the principles that shape the way we move, breathe, think, and practice.
While the masterclasses have been thoughtfully designed to complement one another over the course of the year, each session also stands on its own. Attend the topics that interest you most, or join us throughout the year to experience the series as a progressive educational journey.
Whether you are new to Mysore-style practice or have been practicing for many years, you will leave each masterclass with practical insights that can be applied immediately to your own practice.
Understanding your practice is every bit as important as doing your practice.
Each masterclass is paired with Mysore practice and explores a specific aspect of Ashtanga Yoga in greater depth.
Through a combination of discussion, demonstrations, movement exploration, observation, and practical application, we will investigate the principles behind the practice—not just what we do, but why we do it.
Some sessions are more discussion-based, while others place greater emphasis on movement and technique, but every masterclass combines learning with direct experience.
The goal is not simply to gain more information, but to develop a deeper understanding of your own practice.
Each masterclass is approximately two hours and includes a thoughtful combination of education, exploration, and practical application.
Clear teaching, thoughtful conversation, and space to examine the ideas that shape practice.
See concepts in action and experience how small changes can alter movement, breath, attention, and effort.
Explore principles directly through your own body rather than relying on explanation alone.
Where appropriate, learn to see movement more clearly through respectful observation, demonstration, and shared discovery.
Connect what you have learned to your own history, questions, and evolving relationship with practice.
Throughout the year, the series alternates between masterclasses that emphasize deeper exploration of the mind, breath, anatomy, philosophy, and longevity, and masterclasses that focus on specific movement patterns and categories of postures.
Regardless of the topic, every session combines discussion with experiential learning, helping students connect understanding with direct experience.
Understand how the mind, breath, philosophy, anatomy, fear, expectation, and changing seasons of life affect what happens on the mat.
Explore strength, mobility, balance, timing, stability, and structure through focused categories of postures and transitions.
Rather than twelve unrelated events, these masterclasses have been intentionally designed to complement one another, creating a cohesive educational journey that supports both immediate growth and long-term development as an Ashtanga practitioner.
Each masterclass stands on its own. Together, they create a comprehensive journey through the many dimensions of Ashtanga practice.
Understanding fear, expectation, comparison, trust, and the ever-changing nature of practice.

Details Coming SoonThese masterclasses were created from the thoughtful conversations that arise again and again inside the Mysore room.
The series is an opportunity to explore those questions together—not by offering quick answers, but through observation, discussion, movement, and experience.
Why does my practice change from day to day?
Why does this posture feel impossible for me but effortless for someone else?
Why do I keep compensating?
Why does fear show up in certain poses?
How can I continue practicing for decades?
Over years of teaching Mysore, the same important questions appear in different bodies and at different stages of practice.
The answers are rarely found in trying harder or reaching an idealized shape. They emerge through better observation, more informed choices, patient exploration, and a willingness to understand the person doing the practice.
Additional dates, registration details, and complete descriptions will be added as each remaining masterclass approaches.
