Pain, stiffness, injury, or surgery
Explore movement without pressure to push through symptoms, while respecting medical guidance and your current capacity.
Private Body Mechanics · Maitland, Florida + Virtual
Body Mechanics is Krista Shirley’s individualized movement method for people who want to feel stronger, more coordinated, and more connected to their body. Sessions may support people who are new to exercise, returning after time away, noticing compensation or instability, or rebuilding after pain or injury.
Movement becomes information.
Instead of pushing through, we learn what your body is asking for.
The Body Mechanics method
Krista developed Body Mechanics after a severe nerve injury changed the function of her own shoulder and upper body. Years of retraining taught her that the body does not always need more force. Sometimes it needs better information, a different strategy, and enough repetition to build a new relationship with movement.
Observe before correcting. Organize before loading. Build options—not dependency.
Who is this work for?
Private Body Mechanics can meet you at the beginning of movement, during a period of recovery, or after years of trying to understand why the same area keeps working too hard.
Explore movement without pressure to push through symptoms, while respecting medical guidance and your current capacity.
Develop strength, control, and awareness without assuming that more range of motion is always the solution.
Re-enter movement in a calm, non-intimidating setting with time to ask questions, pause, and build confidence.
Refine how you create force and move through complex patterns in yoga, Pilates, athletics, and daily life.
What a session may include
The work may look quiet and precise or active and challenging. The question is not how intense it looks, but whether it helps your body learn something useful.
Notice how breathing, bracing, urgency, and attention influence movement.
Explore how different parts of the body communicate, compensate, and share work.
Build strength progressively in positions your body can understand and use.
Leave with a small number of focused ideas instead of an overwhelming generic program.
What happens in a session?
Share your history, current symptoms, medical guidance, movement experience, and what you want to regain or understand.
Krista observes how you move, then changes position, support, pacing, range, load, or attention to find a more useful response.
Leave with clearer language for your body and, when appropriate, a few focused practices to continue at home.
